An attack by Al-Shabab extremists in the eastern part of Kenya has left three people dead. The Somali-based militants attacked the Kamuthe Center in Kenya’s Garissa County, setting fire to a police post and attempting to destroy a telecommunications mast.
Kenyan police authorities have confirmed the killing of three teachers and the abduction of one other teacher by the terrorists.
Al-Shabab has since 2011 been fighting the presence of Kenyan troops in Somalia, staging numerous attacks and killing hundreds in the process.
Earlier this month, the al-Qaeda-linked group attacked a military base used by Kenyan and US forces, killing three Americans and destroying aircraft and other machinery.
