Ghana Black Stars coach CK Akonnor has reportedly agreed to pay-cut due to Covid-19 outcomes, confirmed Ghana Youth and Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.

Since his appointment in January as he took over Black Stars coaching job following Kwesi Appiah’s exit, CK Akonnor is yet to receive his salary from Ghana government.

However, former Asante Kotoko and Hearts Of Oak manager has been told to accept salary pay-cut. And he agrees to do so according to declarations of Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.

“I have told the Coach to accept a salary cut in the COVID-19 period before we pay him, we cannot give him full salary in the COVID-19 era, and we are waiting for a response from the FA” Isaac Asiamah told Asempa FM.

“The coach has agreed in principle to accept a salary cut in this COVID-19 era, it is left with the FA to come out with the modalities for us to pay him” he added.

In addition, Charles Akonnor’s salary is set at $25,000 monthly. Now he will be paid half of his wages. That is $12,500 as revealed by Ghanasoccernet
