The Benban Solar station is the largest solar power plant in the world located in Aswan, a city on the Nile River. It can be seen from space and its size equals a number of Aswan villages together.

The Benban Solar station produces twice the production of the Morrocan Noor plant with a capacity of 2000 megawatts.

It is expected to increase the energy in the future to cover large areas of the desert of Egypt.
